AYSO 1625 Offers soccer year round! - Fall season starts the last two weeks of August and runs until the end of October - Winter indoor soccer opportunities include Tuesday skills session for 10U and younger, and 3v3 drop-in (2 sessions) on Saturday for 8U-14U - Spring season starts the last two weeks of March and runs until the weekend before Labor Day weekend. - Summer we bring in soccer camps (P2 Soccer and Challenger Soccer) for our players to get some fun experiences! *SCROLL DOWN to see all of our current available programs, seasons, age divisions and availability!*

Overview

This soccer program is recreational soccer for boys and girls born in 2007 through 2022. AYSO Region 1625 welcomes ALL players from the area, including Albion, Marshall, Springport, Concord, Homer, Battle Creek, Litchfield, Tekonsha (and Parma 14 and older). AYSO 1625 focuses on individual player development and sportsmanship, in a safe, fun, and fair environment. All of our coaches and referees in our program are professionally trained and certified.

Our Club Runs on Volunteers

Our club has no paid staff, but runs completely on parent / volunteer efforts. We have positions available for board members, administrative positions, field and equipment, as well as coaches and adult referees. As you are registering a player for this program, please consider what volunteer spot you might be able to fill. There are volunteer positions to fit everyone.

Register early to guarantee your spot!

Our club is growing and that's good news! Register your players early to guarantee their place on a team. Note that there is no cap on number of players for the 6U division (players born in 2020 - 2022). When maximum number of players is reached for an age division, additional registrants may choose to be placed on a wait list. Wait listed players may be placed on a team only when:

a) other players drop from that team or division, OR

b) enough players are on the waitlist to form another team AND we are able to schedule this team or games AND we have coaches for the team

Spring Season Key Dates

Practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm for all age divisions begin March 24, 2026. No Thursday practices for 6U Division. First games on Saturday, April 11th and run through Saturday, May 16th. We have an area tournament for all 10U, 12U, and 15U players and teams on Saturday, May 30th.

All Spring soccer activities are based at our home fields in Albion, at 225 E Watson Street west of the Marshall Opportunity School. 10U and older divisions may have two or more Saturday games in other area towns. 12U and older divisions will have about half of their 6 games at home and half in other cities in our area.

The 19U Coed division is for boys and girls who were born between 2007 and 2011 (inclusive). The 19U team plays a full-sized game with 11 players on the field, including a goalkeeper, and a roster size of 16.

Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm at our home fields in Albion, at 225 E Watson Street, next to the Marshall Opportunity School.

We will have six Saturdays with games. These will be early afternoons after 15U and younger games end, so that our 19U players who are also referees can officiate matches earlier in the day.

WE ARE CHANGING THE FORMAT this spring to be a mix of external opponents and internal games, depending upon what opponents we are able to arrange matches. See below:

NEW FOR SPRING 2026:

We are going to try to find opponents, but this has been difficult for the past 3 seasons. We are considering all ideas for opponents, evaluating whether we can get a game that is "in the spirit of the game"...in other words safe, fair and fun.
Whether or not we find opponents, we are going to try to get HIGH ENROLLMENT NUMBERS for 19U. In this way, we can still get some quality playing time for all of our players.
For weeks where we have opponents (if any), we'll have "normal" games against other opponents.
For weeks where we do not have opponents, we'll alternate using the following format:
One week we will split the squad evenly and play a full-sided match, either on the full-sized field (if we have enough players) or on a smaller sided field such as the 12U or even 10U field.
On alternating weeks, we will split the squad into four balanced teams and each team will play three small-sided (and shorter duration) games against the other teams, using the 10U or 8U fields.

As this is an all-volunteer organization, please consider whether you are willing to be trained and certified as a coach for this team. In addition, we will need one or two team parents. Volunteering as an adult referee is a great way to support our club, and learn a lot about the game at the same time. Each volunteer will submit for a background check and will be required to take training courses for their role.
