The 6U Coed division is for boys and girls who were born in 2018 through 2020.
"Young 6U" are those who were born in the year 2020. If you believe your 2020 child can handle the structure of a practice, and you or a designee are able to be at every practice and game, then we would encourage you to join us!
Parents in the 6U division are expected to be at every practice and game for the entire time, and will be participating actively in each practice. In addition, many parents will be needed on game days to assist with game management.
The 6U division plays a jamboree format, where evenly matched teams are formed each week, depending upon which families are in attendance.
Practice sessions are structured where boys and girls warm up together, then are broken into 3-4 smaller groups consisting of boys or girls only, and these groups rotate through 3-4 activities. The practice may end with a combined boys/girls exercise.
On game days, girls will be playing on teams separate from the boys.
There is no roster limitation on the 6U division.
Practices are on Tuesdays ONLY at 6pm at our home fields in Albion, at 225 E Watson Street, next to the Marshall Opportunity School. Older divisions will practice on Thursday evenings, but 6U practices only on Tuesdays.
The 6U division plays their games at 11am on Saturdays for six weeks. All games are at our home fields.
As this is an all-volunteer organization, please consider whether you are willing to be trained and certified as a coach for this team. In addition, we will need two or three team parents. Volunteering as an adult referee is a great way to support our club, and learn a lot about the game at the same time. Each volunteer will submit for a background check and will be required to take training courses for their role.
